Hello Everyone!

I hope you have had the opportunity to get out and enjoy this wonderful weather we are having today! It feels so good to feel the sun!

Yesterday, the kiddos came home with a lot of information in their folders and I want to make sure everyone checks folder this weekend!

On Friday, May 30th we will be going to Lewis' Farm on a study trip! Although the students' fee into the farm will be covered, if anyone would like to chaperone, you will have to pay your own fee into the park. $5.00 will cover your entrance fee! Please send this in with the permission slip!

I also sent home a note on Mock Rock which will be May 21st. Please go over the letter with your child if he/she thinks they would like to participate. THis is completely voluntary. I promise it will be a very fun event! Students participating will need to purchase a Relay for Life T-shirt for $10. Order forms will be coming home soon! Parents and others are absolutely invited to watch the performance on Wednesday, May 21st at 7:00 at the high school. It is by far one of my favorite events put on at the Rocket Center all year! If you have any questions, please be sure to contact me! This opportunity is open to any kindergarten through fourth grade student! :)

Enjoy the rest of your weekend! Encourage your child to get outside and play and as always make sure to get some good reading in this weekend!

See you Monday!

Good Evening!

Good Evening 1st Grade Families!

We had a fantastic week back after Spring Break and got a lot of good learning in! I continue to be impressed with the students' engagement in reading! We seem to be growing each day in all areas!

Please help remind your child that he/she should not be bringing toys to school. We have had some minor problems with some students bringing them into the classroom which is causing a distraction to learning.

I am beginning to assess on sight words and reading levels. Please make sure you are reading with your child each night and practicing sight words each night. The more confident the children are with sight words, the stronger their reading will be! :)

Again, if you have ANY questions or concerns, please make sure to contact me! Have a fantastic weekend and a very Happy Easter!
